[ In the kitchen of 1493, Souma takes a step back from where he's set up his phone to record himself. His headband is still around his wrist at the moment, but he's definitely already got an apron on in preparation, so he looks like someone that's ready for a throwdown with Bobby Flay right now. Which is strangely appropriate, given the fact he's about to ask for challenges from the community as well as give an offer. ]

Hey, everybody! I'm Yukihira Souma, and since I've been here for about a month now and this place seems like it's pretty American, United States-style, I figured I'd make an offer to the community before Thanksgiving rolled around. Food's a pretty big deal for any holiday, y'know, and as a chef I'm all about food. But I know that there's gotta be people that either don't know how to make Thanksgiving staples, or they just don't really know how to cook beyond the basics. [ Or at all, don't give people so much credit, Souma, two of the people you live with can't cook for shit. ] So, if anybody was interested...

[ He puts his fists on his hips, grinning big. Ignore the fact he doesn't usually cook Thanksgiving food, he's great at improv and learning on the fly. ] I've got a decade of cooking experience from working in my family's restaurant, and I'd be happy to give cooking lessons! For the holidays, and year-round, depending on how much practice you want to get in.

If you'd like me to prove myself as a good cook, since I can't really give you a resume or anything here, just tell me what your favorite food is and I'll make it for you! [ Then, he pauses, looking thoughtful before he resumes like an idea's dawned on him. ] Or, hey, even if you don't want cooking lessons... Let me know what your favorite food is, everyone, and I'll serve it up for you, Yukihira style! If you can't pick, then just tell me whatever comes to mind and I'll make it all. It'd definitely help keep me in top form while I'm here, since I don't have any of my culinary classes here. The HOMEC ones don't really cut it compared to Toutsuki's rigorous training.

Tonkotsu ramen's the best! With a bit of wakame, and a dash of oil— there was this place near the train station back home that had the best ramen ever!! But it's been a while since I've had any of it...

[she thinks about it way too often. there's nowhere here that serves ramen that's nearly as good...!]

[ Souma actually pulls out a notepad from a pocket of his apron, taking the pen out of the spiral and writing these things down, making a note to himself that it's got a nostalgia factor and underlining that. ]

It sounds really good. [ A resolute nod. ] I'll do my best to make it as close as I can, then!

Hehe, awesome!! You said your name's Souma, right? I'm Rin!! I don't really cook much, but I wanna sign up for those cooking lessons too!

[she needs to stop living on instant ramen and frozen dinners, pls.]

That's right - it's nice to meet you, Rin! If you've got a specific time or place you want, just let me know! I've got a pretty open schedule, since this'll be my first time doing this.

I've got lots of free time so any day is good! And— I live alone and I don't cook much, so I don't really have a lot of ingredients here. Can the lessons be at your place?

[she has one cupboard stuffed top to bottom with instant ramen packets. it's terrible.]

Sure! And you can come over to 1493 whenever you want to! We can do some lessons, or I can make you something, or you can hang out with me and my brother Shouyou. Nobody should have to live or eat alone.

Oh, I know Hinata-kun! He's one of my friends!! That's so cool, you're living with him!

[welp, she's pretty much gonna be a frequent visitor now.]

Yeah! It's been pretty cool, I was an only child back home and we didn't have roommates in my dorm, so! We've been having a lot of fun, and there's always food here between me and one of our dads.

[ Souma has basically adopted a cat and has no regrets about it. ]

You said something about cooking in a restaurant for like, twenty years, right? [close enough] Waaah, Hinata-kun's basically living with a professional chef... !

Close enough! [ Nine years off, but. ] I worked in our restaurant since I was a kid, so I've had lots of practice!

What kinda stuff did you usually make! I'll try anything else you can offer, too! [maybe not the experimental dishes tho]

Diner Yukihira is a Japanese-style restaurant! Everything is that you can get while you're just enjoying a day out shopping, so inexpensive but good, comforting food, but we'll make things that aren't on the menu if customers ask. The culinary school I go to also encourages us to make worldwide cuisine though, so I can make just about anything if you ever wanna be a taste tester with Shouyou!

Being a taste tester sounds like fun! I wanna volunteer, too!!
