[ In the kitchen of 1493, Souma takes a step back from where he's set up his phone to record himself. His headband is still around his wrist at the moment, but he's definitely already got an apron on in preparation, so he looks like someone that's ready for a throwdown with Bobby Flay right now. Which is strangely appropriate, given the fact he's about to ask for challenges from the community as well as give an offer. ]
Hey, everybody! I'm Yukihira Souma, and since I've been here for about a month now and this place seems like it's pretty American, United States-style, I figured I'd make an offer to the community before Thanksgiving rolled around. Food's a pretty big deal for any holiday, y'know, and as a chef I'm all about food. But I know that there's gotta be people that either don't know how to make Thanksgiving staples, or they just don't really know how to cook beyond the basics. [ Or at all, don't give people so much credit, Souma, two of the people you live with can't cook for shit. ] So, if anybody was interested...
[ He puts his fists on his hips, grinning big. Ignore the fact he doesn't usually cook Thanksgiving food, he's great at improv and learning on the fly. ] I've got a decade of cooking experience from working in my family's restaurant, and I'd be happy to give cooking lessons! For the holidays, and year-round, depending on how much practice you want to get in.
If you'd like me to prove myself as a good cook, since I can't really give you a resume or anything here, just tell me what your favorite food is and I'll make it for you! [ Then, he pauses, looking thoughtful before he resumes like an idea's dawned on him. ] Or, hey, even if you don't want cooking lessons... Let me know what your favorite food is, everyone, and I'll serve it up for you, Yukihira style! If you can't pick, then just tell me whatever comes to mind and I'll make it all. It'd definitely help keep me in top form while I'm here, since I don't have any of my culinary classes here. The HOMEC ones don't really cut it compared to Toutsuki's rigorous training.
[ It's free food, who could turn that down? ]

That's the spirit! [ He throws both arms up into the air, food and getting better at cooking are great things to be excited about!! ] We can practice together, it'd be fun!
[ Video ]
Yes! You seem like a fun person to learn from!
You must be really good if you've been cooking in a restaurant for that long!
What's your favorite food?
[ Video ]
I hope so! I've never actually tried to teach anyone before, but I like to think I am pretty good and it could maybe help somebody out!
[ That one's a loaded question, so he slows his roll. ] You know, I don't think I've ever really thought about it before?
[ Video ]
Being really good at something and teaching it to someone are two different things.
[She clasps her hands together as she points to the screen. Wink!]
But I'm sure you'll do great with that spirit!! Help everyone through the power of great food!!
[That's surprising!] Really? Nothing that goes 'Ta-Da~!' and that you're always in the mood to eat?
[ Video ]
Sure is - guess we're gonna see how it goes, huh? At least I can probably learn a thing or two from you, too! [ 100% winks back. ]
And you'll get The Honeybee the best food it can ask for!
[ Souma puts his hands on his hips again, scrunching his nose. ] Well, overall I just really like good food! But if I had to pick I'd say something from our restaurant. It's mostly Japanese-style diner food I grew up eating and making, since I was a little kid.
[ Video ]
Maybeeee~! I'm not experienced as you, Souma-san, but I do what I can to make things taste good! [Oh yes; she likes you already!]
Yes! Awesome! [Hajime is so ready for this. Sure art and design is more up her alley but food is technically a form of both those things.]
So do you make your own creations there? That's impressive! You gotta let me try some!
[ Video ]
Experience is good, but flavor is even more important in the end! So I'm really looking forward to practicing with you. [ A promise of good food and enthusiasm? Yes, absolutely, Souma is genuinely excited.
And, you know, presentation is key in food, so she's got that in the bag. ]
We do! We've even got a secret menu, and we'll do what I'm doing now and accept orders on the fly. [ Which results in him looking at her with curiosity. ] What kind of food do you like, Hajime-san? I can make it for you sometime!
